An accountancy practice · SEO · Google Business Profile
Suspended by Google, argued back in 13 days.
- Sector
- Accountancy · UK, trading nationally
- Services
- SEO, structured data, Google Business Profile
- Timeframe
- Sep 2024 to Mar 2025
- Outcome
- 26 to 138 clicks a month across eight months (Aug 2024 to Mar 2025)

No name, no screenshot, no clues. This happened to a real client, and it happens in the SEO field more often than anyone admits. They have been through quite enough without us pointing at them, so the story runs with the name taken out.
The first decision, in September 2024, was to target national search audiences rather than local ones. They started at 26 clicks and 1,600 impressions a month.
That one choice is the fault line the crisis below ran along.
- 26
- Where they started: clicks a month
- August 2024
- 138
- At its best, inside the engagement: clicks a month
- March 2025, the last working month
The figures
| Calendar month | Clicks | Impressions |
|---|---|---|
| Aug 2024 | 26 | 1,600 |
| Sep 2024 | 54 | 3,620 |
| Oct 2024 | 81 | 10,700 |
| Dec 2024 | 124 | 29,200 |
| Jan 2025 | 126 | 23,795 |
| Mar 2025 | 138 | 35,702 |
Clicks 26 to 138, impressions 1,600 to 35,702. The engagement ended in March 2025 and every figure stops there.
The Google Business Profile was switched off for “deceptive content”. We argued it back in thirteen days.
A working business lost its entire Google presence overnight, accused of deception. We diagnosed the likely trigger the next morning and recommended appealing rather than quietly changing the listing.
7 Nov 2024
Google suspends the profile: “Content that violates our policies on deceptive content and behaviour.”
8 Nov 2024
We diagnose the likely trigger to the client the next morning, and recommend an appeal.
20 Nov 2024
Google: “Your appeal was approved.”
What it means
About three months in, they were seeing around two new clients a month arriving through search, local and national both. They had been getting none that way when we started.
The work behind that was steady rather than clever: pages written to answer the questions people were actually asking, questions and answers marked up so Google could read them, posts on the profile, and getting the business listed properly in the places that matter.

What happens next
You send the form. Within one working day a written reply arrives, from a person.
A short audit follows, in plain English, with the price of fixing what it finds.
If it reads right, work starts inside a week. If not, keep the audit.
