Sarah's whole website was blocked from being indexed. In April 2025 the shop ranked for 18 keywords and earned one click in a month: a retailer with a full catalogue and a blog archive that Google effectively could not see.

The site is Sarah's own design and not one of ours. What we were brought in for was the indexing block, the structured data, and the tutoring that ran alongside them.

Fixing the block was the priority, and the diagnosis phase was set out and agreed before the work went further.

Several weeks of SEO tutoring ran alongside the repair. That is the second act, though. The engagement began because the site could not be indexed.

Impressions from July onwards are rounded. The April baseline is a 28-day window and the later rows are calendar months; they anchor each other rather than combining. Shown to the strongest month reported.

The whole site was blocked from indexing. Getting it unblocked is the case study.

Search Console reported page-indexing failures right across the property. This is the repair, step by step.

  1. 14 May 2025

The priority is set: the indexing block first, with the diagnosis phase set out before work starts.

  2. 19 May 2025

Access to the host and the CMS arranged so the changes could be made. The unglamorous half of the job.

  3. 8 Jun 2025

Google reports some fixes failed. We check the named URL and find it is in fact indexed: the validation, not the fix, was wrong.

  4. 5 Jul 2025

We report the property back up to 191 indexed pages.

  5. 17 Aug 2025

Google confirms the page-indexing issues are successfully fixed, and confirms it again a week later.

What it means

Then the archive she already had started working. Once the pages could be indexed, years of old blog posts began carrying the traffic on their own. Nothing new was written to produce that. It was all already there, and Google simply could not see it.

The curve is steep in the middle: 450 clicks in 28 days at the end of June, 600 by mid July.
