I spent €1,000 on Google Ads with zero sales. Then I checked my server logs and found out where my customers actually come from.

Here’s the kicker: this traffic is invisible in every dashboard. ChatGPT app clicks carry no referer, no UTM, nothing. It all lands in the “direct” bucket. My best acquisition channel didn’t appear in Google Ads, GA4, or Search Console. It only existed in raw server logs.

be the answer

What GEO and AEO actually mean

Almost nobody selling this work explains its acronyms -- an AI SEO agency London businesses find is usually selling exactly this. Here they are in plain English.

GEO

Generative engine optimisation: the work of being present, accurate and cited in the answers AI tools give, from the structure of your pages to the sources that mention you.

AEO

Answer engine optimisation: the same discipline aimed at tools that reply with one direct answer rather than a list of links.

LLM visibility

Whether large language models know your business exists, what they say about it, and which sources they lean on when they say it.

Can an assistant read your site at all?

Googlebot runs your scripts; most AI crawlers do not. If your pages only exist after JavaScript runs, an assistant can meet an empty shell. Every page on this site reads as plain text before any script runs, which is a build decision, not a plugin.

What this is not

Not a shortcut, not a dashboard resold at a markup, and not the same keyword work under a new name. The market is small, real and competitive, and this page says so.

The delivery

What the AI search work actually is

Activity, described plainly. No promises about where answers will come from, because nobody honest can give one.

  1. First

    Readable by machines

The technical half: structured data, clean markup and pages an AI assistant can parse. If a crawler is blocked or confused, nothing else on this page matters.

    • Structured data in place
    • Crawler access checked
    • Clean, parseable markup
  2. Then

    Questions, not keywords

AI assistants answer questions, so the research collects the questions buyers ask and the sources assistants lean on when answering them. Different from classic keyword work, and it shares a spine with it.

    • Buyer questions collected
    • Assistant sources read
    • Shared with the search research
  3. Then

    Content written to be cited

Pages with clear claims, named sources and plain structure: the shape assistants quote. The same discipline good search work already rewards, applied on purpose.

    • Clear claims, named sources
    • Plain structure, short sections
    • Written and read by a person
  4. As it earns it

    Presence where assistants read

Forums, directories and the open web: the places answers are assembled from. Honest activity there, under our own name, and no shortcuts, because shortcuts in a new field age worst of all.

    • Real activity, real name
    • Relevant places only
    • Nothing bought, nothing faked
  5. Throughout

    Honesty about the field

This field is new and changes fast. We are doing the work now and learning as it moves, and the pricing reflects that next to firms selling certainty they do not have.

Since the site launched, I've gained a lot of new customers directly through the website and seen real growth in my business.

Charities, nonprofits and community projects can have this work free. Here is what that covers.

Could you hire someone, or outsource it?

A hire costs a salary before pension, software and cover. An outsourced freelancer is cheaper by the hour, and the brief, the judgement and the joining up all stay with you. A plan is one figure, and everything on it comes included.

A junior marketing hire

£30,201

  • Salary, before everything below it
  • Pension on top, about £719 a year at the statutory minimum
  • One skill set, learning on your time
  • Holiday, sickness and notice periods
  • Recruitment fees and ramp-up time

Average UK marketing executive salary, from 6,200 reported salaries. Indeed, August 2026. Pension at the statutory 3% employer minimum on qualifying earnings, The Pensions Regulator, 2026 to 2027.

An outsourced freelancer

$15 to $45 an hour

about £11 to £33 an hour in sterling

  • Genuinely cheaper by the hour
  • You write the brief, and you check the work
  • One task at a time, in one discipline
  • A different time zone, and no cover if they move on

Typical hourly range for digital marketers on Upwork, from historical contracts worldwide. Upwork, checked August 2026. Converted at $1.3466 to £1, the Bank of England spot rate for 6 August 2026. A rate that moves is part of what a dollar-priced hour costs a UK buyer.

A pomegranate plan

from £490 /month

  • AI-optimised pages
  • Prompt research
  • The machine-readable layer
  • Senior work from the first month
  • Everything explained in plain English
  • No recruitment, no notice period
  • Scales up or down month by month

Not sure which of the three fits? A conversation settles it

Who does the work

One person and a set of AI agents, and honesty about which does what. It is also the answer to how the pricing stays where it is.

  • The writing and the code

Claude Code, an AI coding agent, writes the pages, the copy and the changes, and ships them. Every line is read and signed off by a person before it goes live.

  • The pictures

Images come from gpt image 2, called by Claude Code. Words in pictures are typeset separately in real fonts, so an image model never writes the words.

  • The research

Research fans out across many opencode subagents reading search data, forums and competitors at once. The reading is delegated; every judgement stays human.

Karim scopes the work, reviews it and signs off everything that ships, from a studio in Walthamstow. The tools do the volume, a person does the judgement, and some of these worlds we are stepping into ourselves.

A written audit, free

Where you stand, what is holding you back, and what a sensible month of work looks like. In writing, within a working day, and no call required.

The process

How working together runs

  1. The research

    Month one, then ongoing

What buyers ask, run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity to see who gets named.

  2. The writing

    Monthly

Pages written so engines can read, chunk and retrieve them. House standards; the structure is what changes.

  3. The infrastructure

    Month one, maintained after

llms.txt, ai.txt, machine-readable summaries and schema markup, with every crawler permission set deliberately rather than left open.

  4. The corrections

    Ongoing

Mentions on the sources engines cite, worked at steadily, plus corrections when one gets you wrong.

This is not for you if

  • You have no search foundations and do not want any. This work reads the same pages, structure and sources search does, so on a site with none of that there is very little for an assistant to find and we would be charging you to wait.
  • You want it in writing that you will appear in ChatGPT. No one can sell you that honestly. The engines change what they show, sometimes sharply, and a promise about their output is a promise about someone else's product.
  • You want one monthly number that proves it worked. Measurement here is younger than search measurement, and we would rather show you what an assistant now says about you than invent a score for it.

Plain English for the jargon

Plain English over industry speak, always. These are the technical terms this page could not avoid.

Generative engine optimisation
Improving how AI tools that write their answers, like ChatGPT and Gemini, understand, describe and cite your business.
Answer engine
A tool that replies to a question with one answer rather than a list of links.
Structured data
Labelled information in a page's code that tells machines what the page is about, in a format they read reliably.
Crawler
The software an engine sends to read pages. Googlebot runs your scripts; most AI crawlers do not.

Straight answers

What are the best options for companies offering SEO services for small businesses?

Assistants answer this question today, and the businesses they name were readable, consistent and cited somewhere the engine trusts. GEO is the work of meeting those three conditions: pages an assistant can read without running your scripts, a description of the business that stays the same wherever it is checked, and mentions on the sources those engines actually cite. Nobody can promise you a place in an answer, and this page does not.

The plain definition, and what it shares with SEO

Is GEO included when I buy an SEO plan?

No. GEO is a distinct body of weekly work with its own tooling, which is why it carries its own price rather than being dressed up as a free inclusion. It stacks on any SEO plan at the added rate, and because the research serves both, the combined figure is lower than buying the two apart.

I paid extra for AI search before and got the same old keyword work underneath. How is this different?

That has happened to real buyers and it is the right thing to be suspicious of. The defence is this page: the pages written, the infrastructure files shipped, the prompts researched, all stated plainly with the fee. Four AI-optimised pages a month at the entry tier, ten buyer prompts run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, and llms.txt and ai.txt shipped and maintained. Work that cannot be pointed at did not happen.

What AI SEO tools do, and what they do not

How would I know if it worked?

Honestly, measurement in this discipline is immature. What can be checked is whether assistants name you, what they say about you, and whether the sources they cite include you. Those are accuracy checks rather than a score, and when an engine gets something wrong about your business, correcting it is part of the work. We would rather show you what an assistant now says than invent a number for it.

How to find the right SEO service for your small business?

Ask what the work is before asking what it costs, ask who holds the accounts and the site, and ask what happens in a month where nothing moves. The answers to all three are on this page already. Ask too whether what you are being sold is a dashboard resold at a markup, or the same keyword work under a new name. A price you can read before you call is the cheapest test of the lot.

Can you recommend a reliable agency that offers comprehensive SEO?

Read the prices, the process and the disqualifications above, then decide from those. That is more than most pages in this market will give you, and it is deliberately the whole basis we ask to be judged on. On this page it means GEO priced as its own plan, from £490 a month on its own or from £195 added to an SEO plan, with the work each figure buys listed beside it.

Can you do this without touching my existing SEO agency's work?

Yes. GEO on its own runs beside whatever search arrangement you already have. It is a distinct body of work with its own tooling, aimed at the answers assistants give rather than at the ranked list, and it reads the same pages, structure and sources your search work does. Standalone plans are £490, £1,145 and £2,745 or more a month. Where we run both, the two share research and the added rate reflects that.

What this usually sits next to

Most engagements here turn out to be more than one of the six. These are the three that come up alongside this one most often, and why.

  • SEO

AI answers are drawn from pages that already rank, so GEO stacks on search work rather than replacing it.

  • Web design & development

Answer engines read structure, so schema, headings and clean markup decide what gets quoted.

  • Brand design & strategy

Being named is half of it, and a distinct brand is easier for a model to attribute than a generic one.

  • Or take it as one plan

This is one of six services, and most months it is not the only one running. Our digital marketing plans bundle the matching tier of each, at 16% under buying them apart, on the same no-notice terms.
