What keywords to use for SEO?

After identifying your target audience, you probably want to know how to best connect with them. This is where good keyword research becomes apparent from bad keyword research. 

There are several things to consider when thinking of the keywords that you should target to reach your audience:

  • Is your audience searching this keyword because they are looking for information on a topic or because they are looking to purchase something at that time

    ‘Informational’ keywords, such as questions or prepositions, are better targeted within the content that is being published on your website; perhaps through a blog or through media

    ‘Commercial’ or ‘transactional’ keywords are better used on core product or core services pages, as they

  • Although yesterday’s traffic doesn’t guarantee tomorrows… And it doesn’t guarantee tomorrows; a road that has had cars on it yesterday, will likely have a car on it at some stage in the future - unless something dramatic happens

    Picking keywords that have had some traffic in the past isn’t the worst idea

    Conversely, picking keywords that have huge amounts of traffic on also isn’t the best idea for a small business as the big players in your niche have probably already been focusing on acquiring that traffic for a while, and still make continuous efforts to keep that traffic

  • How many different sites are targeting that particular keyword and how busy are those sites generally?

    The busier that competitor sites are [the more links that exist to that website from other websites] the tougher it may be to outrank that site in search engine results pages (SERPs)

  • As an example ‘SEO keyword research service’ itself is likely to be less competitive than any of the keywords made up from the 4 individual words that make it up.

Therefore it is one of those services that can take an hour or could take a whole day, fortunately we think the keyword research services price shouldn’t reflect that. 

We offer all keyword research free to charities, start ups and entrepreneurs in a bid to make the world a better place. This will include up to 10 core keywords and 50 blog topic keywords relevant to your subject matter.

We have three different pricing structures:

  • Current website keyword analysis 

    Both national and local competitor (commercial/transactional) keyword analysis 

    Minimum of 5 good quality commercial/transactional keywords per page 

    £150 + VAT for the minimum of 3 core pages

    £40 + VAT for each additional core page thereafter 

  • Current website keyword analysis

    Both national and local competitor (informational) keyword analysis 

    Groups of low competition, informational, keywords (from searched phrases to questions to prepositions) that your audience are currently searching for - all of which can be used 

    A blog strategy will be put together for you in a clear piece-by-piece format; with each blog in the strategy covering a minimum of 5 relevant keywords

    The blog strategy will include research for a minimum of 18 blog posts covering a minimum of 90 relevant, low competition, informational, keywords - with all keywords in one blog post relevant to the other keywords in that same blog post

    £100 + VAT for keyword research for a minimum of 10 blog posts

    £30 + VAT for keyword research for every 5 blog posts thereafter 

  • Current website keyword analysis

    Both national and local competitor (commercial/transactional) keyword analysis

    Minimum of 5 good quality commercial/transactional keywords per core page

    Groups of low competition, informational, keywords (from searched phrases to questions to prepositions) that your audience are currently searching for - all of which can be used

    The blog strategy will include research for a minimum of 18 blog posts, in total covering a minimum of 90 relevant, low competition, informational, keywords.

    £200 + VAT for keyword research for a minimum of 3 core product/services pages and 10 blog posts,

    £35 + VAT for each additional core page thereafter

    £25 + VAT for research for every 5 blog posts thereafter
